Located along Highway 36 in western Ohio is a small village known as St. Paris. It is 35 miles north of Dayton and 55 miles west of Columbus. According to the United States Census Bureau, St. Paris has a population of about 2,000 people as of 2016. It is estimated to be the largest village in Champaign County.
St. Paris is in a region of Ohio that was inhabited by Native American Indians before the arrivals of European peoples. Following their arrivals, communities sprung up in western Ohio. St. Paris was laid out by David Huffman in 1831. It is named for the beautiful capital of France. St. Paris is believed to have been incorporated as a city in 1858.
